Sungu Dudi (“Terano”): 1998–2026
Sungu Dudi, KITFest Trust’s Marketing and Sponsorship Officer, is posthumously honored as the Face of KITFest 2026.
Recognizing the transformative role he played in reshaping the festival’s creative direction, content production, and public identity most notably his contribution to the landmark success of KITFest@10 and the County Theatre Fiesta programme.
A graduate in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Technical University of Kenya and holder of a Master’s in Media and Communication from Kenyatta University, Sungu brought a rare instinct for storytelling to everything he touched. Before joining KITFest in 2025, he had already built a reputable career in media and communications across platforms like One FM/2FM, Stage Africa PR, the Ministry of Agriculture, With All Due Respect, and as co-founder & creative director of Xnom.
In barely a year at KITFest, Sungu redefined what theatre marketing could look like. He reshaped the festival’s image, amplified its voice, and turned it into a vibrant, must-experience cultural moment connecting audiences to theatre through feeling, identity, and belonging. He gave KITFest a heartbeat that audiences could recognize and rally behind.
Beyond his talent, Sungu was remembered for his humility and warmth effortlessly creative, deeply dedicated to his craft, and always wearing a genuine smile. He carried excellence lightly, never loudly, and that quiet brilliance made his impact even more enduring.
Sungu passed away suddenly in March 2026 at the age of 28. His recognition as the Face of KITFest 2026 honors both his professional legacy and the spirit he brought to every room he entered a tribute the Trust carries forward with pride and gratitude.
