Bodies In Motion: Devised Performance Workshop

Ignite your creativity and unleash your artistic potential in the captivating workshop series: "Bodies in Action: Exploring Devised Performance." Led by esteemed American Actor/Theatre Practitioner Antonio Disla and acclaimed Dancer Choreographer Alexandria Davis, this transformative journey will take you on a mesmerizing exploration of Heightened Language, Dance, and Contact Improvisation. Join us as we delve into the depths of collaborative creation, weaving together the diverse artistry of actors, dancers, poets, and visual artists. Inspired by community-relevant themes, folklore, and poetry, we will collectively craft a groundbreaking new work that resonates with the soul of our society. Immerse yourself in a week-long intensive workshop from May 17th to 21st, where creativity knows no bounds, and boundaries blur as we embrace the power of devised performance.

The application Closes 15th May 2023. Feedback shall be given on 16th May.

Vivat Messi Project

Juggling Tour In Europe: Call for Audition

Internationally established European dance company Spitfire Company in partnership with Kenya International Theatre Festival and Kenya Cultural Centre searches for the young free-style football artist for the international art project Vivat Messi that will premiere in Prague, Czech Republic with a subsequent European tour.

We are looking for a young (17-21) or very young-looking artist with a strong personal story, ideally a dancer who can master free-style football brilliantly and will be able to act on stage with both movement and words. Vivat Messi is a tribute to all young people who have a dream to achieve something one day. Maybe become a famous football player. And whose ability to overcome obstacles can be a role model for other young people.

The project is intended for a young audience and will be rehearsed and performed in Nairobi, Prague, Oslo, and possibly other European cities.

How to Apply

How to Apply for the Project

Follow the steps below to apply for the project:

  1. Click on the Application link and fill out the application form, providing accurate details.
  2. Record two videos:
    • A video showing your football juggling skills footwork - not letting the ball touch the ground for as long as possible.
    • A speaking introduction video: Introduce yourself, what football brings to you, what you like about it, and your motivation to be part of this project.
  3. Upload these videos to your Google Drive.
  4. Attach the links to the videos in the attachment section of the application form.

Note: Your application will not be accepted if:

  • You have not completely filled out the application form with accurate details.
  • You have not provided an introduction video in the application form.
  • You have not provided a video showing your football juggling skills footwork.


We require:
  • One minute of free-style football (the goal is to see the foot work - not to let the ball touch the ground for as long as possible)
  • Speaking introduction for at least 2 minutes (introduce yourself, why you started to play football, what football bring to you, what you like about football, and your motivation to be part of the project)
